H.S.C.C. - BGKY

This is a job I did just the other day here in BG. They needed me to darken all the lettering, when they got the piece they realized the manufacturing plant forgot the paint. Took me a long time taping it off more than anything else. It may be difficult to tell from the photos, but it's 14 feet long.

Bill Roberts?

No, not that mother scratcher! Bill Parker!
He was standin' there with the sandwich in one hand...

Go Hilltoppers!

This family wanted the front and back of this tear-drop stone lettered and the WKU red towel emblem in the bottom corner. I think I did a pretty darn good job, and it's all traced and cut by hand.

2 big animals and a place to cook them.

Cool looking cow, huh?
What a neat idea; stretch an old tractor and turn it into a grill. Both the grill and the cow are in Tiny Town, KY(where everything is bigger).

This emu is just outside of Clarksville, TN. No real story to go along with the photo, just saw an emu and thought that I should take a picture.

What are they feeding the flies in Kentucky?!

I had to get a picture of this damn thing. It's even big for a deer fly. This was at St. Mary's cemetery in Whitesville, KY. I left as soon as the fly dropped the truck.

Dangerous crossing

I was a little nervous crossing this one lane bridge in Metcalfe county, KY. There's quite a drop down but I made it with a running start. There's a gravel road across the bed for heavier vehicles to take, but it's too overgrown this time of year to even get to it. You can really see the detail and workmanship that went into the bridge floor.

Beautiful day in south central KY

I love the way the clouds were sitting this day. This picture was taken at Asbury cemetery in Center, KY

Great location!

It's like a mesa with the top level cleared. Beautiful.

Well, are you ?

The storm that drowned Louisville

This is the storm from 8/4 that dropped all that rain on Louisville. I'm taking this picture from Glasgow that afternoon.

Hello, I'd like to rent a pig.

Oh ! Well, I'm sorry I didn't see the sign.

This is a store just north of Morgantown, KY. I actually drove past it, then thought, I gotta' go get a picture of that.

Cool stone

This is a stone at Fairview cemetery in BG. All polished black cap & column with this mirrored on either side of the cap, I like that it's blasted, not etched.

Good lookin' piece of marble

Pretty cool pic of Roy Acuff memorial at Spring Hill cemetery in Nashville. Spring Hill also is the resting place for Bill Monroe, Hank Snow, Keith Whitley, etc.

Interesting

Not the more famous people of the same names, but interesting.

Sleep in a wigwam !

This is in Cave City, KY and it looks really cool.
Everytime I go through here and see the wigwams, I think that this must have sparked the idea for the cones in the movie "Cars".

History Lesson

Fort Williams at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery
(Glasgow, KY)

A little bit of info about the union fort taken by the CSA in October of '63 A couple of views of the cemetery from the fort.
I'd better go move the truck!

Blessed are the white-tious!

I don't know how well you can see the flag just behind the church sign.

EVERYONE welcome?

Another funny name

If this family doesn't have local political power they're in the wrong business.

Poor little compressor

On the last day of June, while driving down the road the passenger side wheel of the compressor came off, lug nuts and all. A good time was had by all.

Rather than search the nearest 5 states for the exact axle parts, I decided to remove the entire axle, find a good utility trailer with a more common axle and hub sizes and mount the compressor on there.

Well here's the the trailer that I found, 5' X 8' tilt utility, 15" wheels, A-frame; should be perfect for the job. Now the fun part, get THAT onto THAT. hmmm

Success !
I found some good steel brackets and anchored it to the trailer.

All set and ready to get back to work after 2 days.
Day 1 - disaster and assessment
Day 2 - recovery

Teamwork

I think that the main reason this one came out so nice is because I had help. Once the lettering was done, I went home and brought Tara back with me. She did a great job cleaning the front and back(I got the high parts).

They Look Like Strong Hands

This is from a couple of weeks ago, the entire day I was staying just to the east of this line of storms until it caught me in Edmonson county.

Funny names

These are couple of stones with funny names(I think).

First Posting

This is a pretty sad looking fox that I saw one day in a cemetery. Seeing a fox isn't really all that strange but the fact that this one was in Mt. Olivet cemetery in dowtown Nashville, TN is a little odd.
